Abigail and Francois tied the knot on the 08th of October 2011 on a beautiful farm just outside of Amsterdam in Mpumalanga.

We decided it was best to leave Pretoria on the Friday afternoon already, so that we can see where the actual ceremony would be held on the farm. It just takes away so much of your worries if you know where to go and what to expect. I was really excited to photographthis wedding as it was so completely out of the ordinary! I mean it was a destination wedding in Amsterdam – which by the way I thought onlyexisted in the Netherlands, until I met Abigail and Francois. I am a little bit more educated now… Abigail and Francois was kind enough to show us the farm just as they finished their rehearsal for walking down the isle the next day. It was amazing to see that side of the preparations again, how in detail the bride plans everything – just the way she dreamt of her wedding day. I have to mention that Abigail and Francois did all the decorating of the hall themselves with the help of some family and friends. It wasnt a wedding venue where people did it for them, they did it by themselves. Abigail designed their wedding stationary and used their pre-shoot photos as a backdrop which of course made me all warm and fuzzy inside! She also made their wedding cake herself – even the little flowers and hearts on top, I will never forget walking into the kitchen and seeing her decorate her own wedding cake… She also made her own garter and the thank you gifts A unique wedding in so many ways
The wedding day was absolutely perfect, as Abigail came walking down the pine tree forest towards her husband, it captivated me – and yes, my camera shutter did hate me in the end! I just couldnt stop taking photographs! It was the most beautiful setting I have seen in a while, they got married in a strip of grass between two copses of pine trees on a plantation, as I said it was a beautiful setting!

We took all their portrait photographs around the farm and in the pine trees, we were blessed with awesome golden light which I just love.

Thank you Francois and Abigail for allowing Rudolf and myself to share this beautiful day with you. We had so much fun, and enjoyed meeting your guests. Your wedding setting was like candy for my creative eye I just couldn’t get enough! And thank you for being so easy to work with, you were wonderful!
