Heleen and Erik finally got married on Saturday 20 August 2011 at L’Aquila!!!

As we arrived at L’Aquila, Heleen was walking through the venue in her bathrobe, radiant with happiness and she was so relaxed… Their big day finally arrived!

The venue was an absolute pleasure to work in and with, I didn’t want to stop taking photographs of Heleen in the spa area. Absolutely breath taking, your creative mind goes on a field trip in there!

Heleen and Erik were so easy to work with, that you cant help but get the most beautiful photographs, Erik of course just wanted to kiss Heleen the whole time, I am surprised to see that there are photographs without them kissing . Like I said they made my job easy, being in love and not being afraid to shout it to the world – how can that NOT make awesome photographs?!

It really was a beautiful wedding – I know I say it a lot. But each wedding is beautiful, each couple I photograph shows me something different, reveal love in a new way to me. Love is such a complex emotion and not one of us experience it the same way… and it’s such a precious gift to me, to see each couple that I photograph and the way that they love.

I just have to mention that L’Aquila is extremely professional, the food is FANTASTIC – I have never eaten so much in my whole career as I did at Heleen and Erik’s wedding! Absolutely divine!!! YUM YUM!

A personal word from me: Love isn’t always a feeling but a choice. Sometimes your husband/wife/ partner makes that decision to love them easy, sometimes they make it hard. But in the end, we all need love. I hope today you choose to love, to love with an unconditional heart. Because truly loving someone during the good times, bad times, and really ugly times – that’s how our love grows stronger, that’s how we truly appreciate one another.
